Urban Decay Electric Palette

Yes, I hopped on the bandwagon for this one palette but I haven’t got the chance to review it until now! I’ve been stuck in a neutral rut and needed a colourful pick-me-up, so when Urban Decay launched the Electric Palette ($58 CAD/$49 USD) I knew I had to get my hands on it.The Electric Palette has a magnetic casing containing a large enough mirror to use and holds 10 bright pigmented eye shadows includes a synthetic dual ended brush which is surprisingly useful. At the back of the palette it writes the colours: “Urban”, “Slowburn”, “Savage”, and “Jilted” are not intended for the immediate eye area (I use it anyway and nothing “bad” happened yet *knock on wood*) Use these colours at your own discretion and risk, just because it worked for me doesn’t mean it will for you.

DESCRIPTION: The ultimate fix for color addicts, this palette features smooth mattes and highly-dimensional shimmery shades. Each soft, creamy, long-wearing powder is electrically colorful, and carefully crafted with a smooth formula that applies vibrantly. Pressed pigments create heavily saturated bright shades that make eyelids pop. The oversize palette features an extra-large mirror and double-sided precision brush for easy application on the go. Every shade in the Electric Pressed Pigment Palette features Urban Decay’s Pigment Infusion System™, the proprietary blend of ingredients that gives each shade its velvety texture, rich color, serious staying power, and blendability. Formulated without Parabens, Sulfates, Phthalates.

Overall, each shade equally has a great texture – smooth, soft and creamy (similar to the naked palettes), blends easily and is chock full of pigmented brights. The mattes blend like a dream, as do the frost finishes but it takes a little more patience to blend. Each colour goes hand in hand together in a way that makes each look simple, or bold and vibrant! The 4 shades that are indicated not eye safe are prone to staining. Each shade has long wear, and stay vibrant all day long.

Revolt, Gonzo,  Slowburn, Savage, Fringe

Chaos, Jilted, Urban, Freak, Thrash

Do you prefer bold, neutral or a little of each when creating looks? How would you use these colours?
